Four days later, Gutierrez died as a result of her injuries. At .229, Munoz's blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit when the accident occurred, according to reports.
On Thursday, September 29th, Munoz turned himself in to the Coral Gables Police Department and is now charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide. Munoz was fired from his position.
